My friend Jesse in the Oakland Hills CA had plans for this property. We worked there a lot in 2003. The highlight was this mangaris type mahogany deck with the arch which we built into some boulders that were placed by a crane after we had poured retaining walls and the like to create his front yard. A new bridge was also installed to reach the house. And the rear deck needed three 24’ plus height post with new foundations and beams to support the home. (All done like a Billy goat on the side of this hill).
Note the stainless steel cable handrails that were purchased from a supplier I know in WA state. We also designed the strange fence to include the mahogany hardwood.

Jesse and his boss Jay did the excellent landscaping. Good job guys it turned out well.
I believe he sold the house in 2005. We also did some interior work and high end fixtures to complete this very unique home.


Our friend Cheryl in Castro Valley CA had lost total use of her backyard due to wear on her huge deck. We were more than happy to replace it with one of her own design and to get her “back out there” in 2003. Blind nailing on the benches and a custom Pagoda highlighted this three level deck system. We also built enclosed walls and added lighting to make it cool at night. Nice choices Cheryl. It was a pleasure to work with you.
